She’s a very freaky girl…

Isabella, shes super freak-ay

Warning: This post is not for the wayward prude.

Rick James probably didn’t realize it, but he was totally seeing about Isabella Rossellini–the very definition of a *Super Freak.  Believe it or not, but the crazy/genius Italian is back with her second season of Green Porno on the Sundance Channel. Yeah, I said porno.

First things first, don’t be getting all excited. Green Porno is not some seedy, Mother Nature-meets-shirtless cable guy, yadda yadda yadda situation. It’s puppets, spandex, and papiermâché…so that doesn’t help my argument much…think (sorta) family-friendly, educational series where Rossellini re-enacts mating rituals of non-mammalian creatures. Well, friendly for those families that want their children to use anatomical terms instead of things like pee-pee and cha-cha and educational in the way that I never knew how many creatures liked it rough.

In season one, Isabella brings you insects (spiders, praying mantis, earthworms, snails, etc.) and in season two, she takes you on a fantastic voyage into the blue (heh, rhyme) and kicks everything off with “Why Vagina.” In my opinion, season one will haunt you longer, but both are creepily brilliant and engaging. Prepare yourself. You will hear “penis” a lot…and see puppet bits actually. A lot. Isabella likes to say penis as much as possible. I’m thinking there must be some sort of behind the scenes bet. More likely, though, is that a bread-basket upbringing has made me a little too sensitive to the mere mention of–you know–bits.

I was going to make a joke using lyrics from Disney’s Under the Sea…well let’s just say that song seems very, very wrong after watching season two. All I know is that nature is a very dirrrrty place now. ::shudder::

I, and by “I” I mean the WordPress spam filter, will be paying for this post for a long time.
