At little junkies, we want to set you up with the best of the best so you’ll never be lonely. So, stop (!) in the name of love, and check out the men that made The Hangover an unexpected summer hit. And if you haven’t seen the movie yet, or have no idea why you should, check out the trailer ASAP, it’s time to let the dogs out.
Bradley Cooper: Coop is probably best known to the TV crowd as journalist Will Tippin on Alias, who later ventured on to become the resident bag of douche in movies like Wedding Crashers and He’s Just Not That Into You. He has a laid back style and charm that makes me swoon even when he is cheating on his wife or beating the crap out of Owen Wilson. While I was crushed when Kitchen Confidential was canceled and my weekly dose of Brad was cut off, he certainly has leading man written all over him and I can’t wait to see what he’s up to next. With his popularity up 328% on IMDB, apparently everyone else is excited too!
Zach Galifianakis: As Cinematical astutely points out Galifiankis’s “Alan” is this year’s Mclovin. While I’ve been singing the lesser known comedian’s praises since his 2001 Comedy Central Presents special (as well as my ability to spell his name) he steals nearly every scene in The Hangover and is on the fast track to becoming a household name. Although you may not know his comedy he may look familiar to you, Galifiankis has had small roles in TV and movies such as Tru Calling, Reno 911, Heartbreakers and most recently Into the Wild. If you only have a couple minutes to devote to getting to know Zach I suggest checking out the music video shot on Zach’s farm in North Carolina (also staring Zach) for Kanye West’s Can’t Tell Me and then canceling whatever you were planning to do next and check him out in Fiona Apple’s video for This is Not About Love. If you have more than a couple minutes get your self a Netflix subscription and check out my favorite performance of his yet Zach Galifianakis: Live at the Purple Onion, you won’t even have to wait for the dvd to come in the mail – it’s availble in their instant queue. And don’t forget to tune into Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis on Will Ferrel’s website FunnyorDie.
Ed Helms: The Daily Show, The Office, a one episode appearance on Arrested Development…need I say more? Fine I will. He plays the banjo, studied under the Upright Citizens Brigade, narrates segments for The Colbert Report and actually pulled out his tooth for The Hangover. Clearly dedicated to his craft and seriously funny.
Justin Bartha: SOMEONE GIVE THIS MAN A LEADING ROLE ALREADY! It’s a good thing he got to drive the sweet car and kiss the pretty girl because he certainly didn’t get the screen time he deserved in The Hangover. Granted the movie is about a groom going missing when his buddies black out after his bachelor party, but couldn’t they have made it about four friends who wake up and can’t find some unknown actor that plays the groom? No need to punish him for Gigli, he was actually kind of good in it. I don’t get why he isn’t featured more prominently in movies. He’s cute, has great comedic timing and I’d pay to see a movie staring him.
Baby Tyler/Carlos: Seriously whose baby is this?? And why isn’t it in more movies? This little tyke is beyond adorable (look at those eyes!) as Zach’s accesory in The Hangover. “Not at the table Carlos!”
