2010 Movie Project: February Data

Good ol’ 2010 Movie Project! Belated as they may be, the February numbers have been crunched–every movie watched has been tabulated. Cruise all the way to the end to see my entire list o films this month. Note: check back tomorrow for ZRose’s movie trailer pack rundown. The most surprising bit of information for me? The fact that nearly 60% of the movies we watched were written by unoriginal bastards…Well, they’re not bastards (I love a good adaptation), but is that a good thing or a bad thing? Is it every book’s dream to burst from it’s cocoon an adapted screenplay? Are the solid, original screenplays non-existent or too much of a gamble for the major studios? Ponder. (Also, it’s $36.00/person)

Movie Delivery Vehicles

We may have made fewer trips to the theater this month, but I can still call out my best/worst theatrical releases: Shutter Island and Cop Out, respectively. ZRose’s best/worst DVD/Blu Ray picks: Iron Man and The Phantom. Fun sidenote: We had another unintentional case of double-vision last month. Here are all the actors we saw twice: Carey Elwes, Anne Hathaway, Hugh Dancy, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Anthony Hopkins, Ben Kingsley, Bradley Cooper, and Jackie Earl Haley.

The Genre Breakdown

It’s pretty simple; I just scored the first two genre tags from IMDB for each movie I saw and plopped them in the pie chart…Mmmmm pie chart. Somehow, we wound up with another lonesome dove, er, “western!” Last month, it was The Book of Eli. This month, The Mask of Zorro.

Average Rating

(Ode to The Power Station)
Some like it hot and some sweat while the heat is on.
We like it mild and only slightly wild.

Random Bit of Trivia

I’m sayin’ it: Hugh Dancy is the most muffiny muffin around.
