Today is the day! Scott Pilgrim vs. The World opens in theaters today, though I heard South Americans may have to wait until October (bummer!). The Minneapolis-bound members of the Little Junkies Pop Culture Club will be at the Roseville AMC for the 8:10 showing this evening and then hitting up a local spot after for lively convo and, you know, sugar.
I’ll post a little summary of our discussion along with my own Pilgrim-y thoughts tomorrow. Until then, here is a plethora of Scott-related fun and merchandise for those that can’t make it out to the theater tonight…living under that rock must be rough 😉 Consider it a list of things to do, from me to you (that rhyme’s on the house):
Watch some vids
Wee! [adult swim] is (rightly) geeking out over this movie, too. They’ve worked with Bryan Lee O’Malley and Edgar Wright to develop an animated short from Volume 2 that didn’t make it into the movie. It’s high school Scott and Kim from the Volume 2 flashback! You also meet Lisa Miller, not in the movie, but a supporting character in the novels with a big role in Volume 4. Think of it as a 4 minute bit of Scott origins. The talent: Michael Cera as Scott, Allison Pill as Kim, Mae Whitman as Lisa and Jason Schwartzman as Simon Lee (though Whitman and Schwartzman actually play different roles in the movie).
There are also three great trailer options. One is the interactive trailer for the movie full of kick-ass tidbits care of Edgar Wright himself (I’m kind of crushing on him). Honestly, it’s better than DVD bonus features. Another is a fan made trailer to entice Michael Cera haters–basically he focuses on Cera getting slapped around. A lot. The last one is a recreation of the official trailer made with frames from the original graphic novel. Wright was pretty spot on.
Ramona’s magical purse!!!! …but it’s $120. Talk about a :: pow ::, Etsy.

Deviant Art has some great SP fan art, like this Venture Bros-themed drawing and I also spied a Sailor Moon themed ode to the ladies of SP and many more.
